VEGETAL MOTIFS
Just like animal motifs, plant motifs are very common in popular Serrano embroidery, with both simple and composite representations. Sometimes around a central figure and sometimes in boxes separated by insertion cloths joined by bobbin lace, frayed lace or lace edging.
Among the motifs that make up the fretwork and bouquets that unite the animal representations to complete the composition we can find lotus flowers, papyrus flowers, roses of Sharon, palms and the tulips, all of which are of Eastern origin, with clear similarities to the Egyptian world.
