THE EAGLE
Various winged animals are normally represented surrounded by vegetation to frame them, including pajaritas or doves (also popularly called “chicks”), eagles, roosters, turkeys or swans. Other times winged creatures appear guarding the Tree of Life, along with other animals of power, such as lions or deer.
Eagles are used less frequently in compositions and are sometimes confused for other winged animals.
Seen as the queen of birds, the eagle is a symbol of freedom and dignity of the inner being in the heavenly world and sometimes is designed with a heart inside it that occupies a larger part of the animal’s body.
