
The process of Serrano embroidery begins with drawing motifs on a canvas. With a braid stitch, usually in black, the designers mark the outlines. Afterwards, the motifs are filled in by using a wide variety of stitches. All the stitches used belong to the “satin stitch” embroidery technique, where the thread runs along the front and reverse side of the canvas.
