TURKEYS (HENS)

A very common iconographic element in the ‘popular embroidery of the Sierra de Francia, the turkeys (which in Spanish is always used in the female gender, “pavas”) can be distinguished from other birds and pigeons by their larger size, the shape of their wings and tail and, especially, by their large claws.
